Dierks Bentley Keeps Garth Brooks’ 1993 Sax Solo Recording on Tour Bus
Country music is built on tradition—and Dierks Bentley is proudly keeping a piece of it alive in a unique way.
While Dierks Bentley is known for hits like “Drunk on a Plane” and “Burning Man,” he’s also a true fan of the genre’s history.
One of the most surprising ways he honors it? By keeping a recording of Garth Brooks’ saxophone solo from a 1993 show on his tour bus.
Yep—Garth Brooks, known for his high-energy stadium shows and powerhouse vocals, once whipped out a saxophone mid-concert and absolutely shredded.
The performance happened during a show at Reunion Arena in Dallas, Texas.
As Bentley recalls, “Garth walks down the steps with a sax and rips the solo. Just rips it.”
Why It Stays With Him
The audio clip is more than just a nostalgic memento.
Bentley says he listens to it with his band before shows as a reminder to give fans everything they’ve got.
“It’s not about playing it safe,” Bentley explains. “It’s about giving people something unforgettable—and that solo is unforgettable.”
