The Wienie 500 is Coming to IMS

The Wienermobile is famous for fueling our craving for hot dogs, but this week it’s shifting gears to fulfill our need for speed.
In an unexpected twist to the lead-up events for the Indianapolis 500, a new race is hitting the track: the Wienie 500. Taking place this Friday at 2:00 P.M. Eastern, the event will showcase all six Wienermobiles in a high-spirited competition — the first race of its kind, and the first time the entire fleet has assembled in over ten years.
Each Wienermobile in the lineup will be themed after a regional hot dog specialty:
The Chi Dog – representing the Midwest
The New York Dog – representing the East Coast
The Slaw Dog – representing the Southeast
The Sonoran Dog – representing the Southwest
The Chili Dog – representing the South
The Seattle Dog – representing the Northwest
Drivers, known as “Hotdoggers,” will don custom racing suits, and the race will conclude in dramatic style with a celebration at the Wiener’s Circle. Expect flying condiments, fanfare, and a champion’s hot dog waiting at the finish line.
The Wienie 500 will stream live on the FOX Sports app and on @INDYCARonFOX across social media. Buckle up — it’s about to get deliciously fast.
