Not many can nail this classic tune, but Carrie Underwood isn’t your average artist.
Over the weekend, Carrie made her Hawaiian debut at the Blaisdell Center, and the crowd was beyond stoked. She even took to Instagram to share that her band thought it was the “loudest crowd we’ve ever played for.” Way to bring the noise, Hawaii!
During her set, Carrie belted out her hits like “Before He Cheats” and “Jesus Take the Wheel,” but the highlight? Her jaw-dropping cover of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” As a rock and roll aficionado, it’s no shocker she chose this legendary track, and her powerhouse voice made it a moment to remember.
For those who need a refresher, “Don’t Stop Believin’” dropped in October 1981 as the second single from Journey’s seventh studio album, Escape. Written by Steve Perry, Neal Schon, and Jonathan Cain, it’s been certified eighteen-times Platinum by the RIAA as of 2017.
Carrie’s known for her incredible vocal chops, and seeing her cut loose and rock out to this iconic anthem was an absolute blast.
