Alexandra Kay Joins Brad Paisley for “Whiskey Lullaby” Duet

Alexandra Kay just had the moment of a lifetime — singing “Whiskey Lullaby” onstage with country icon Brad Paisley.

Over the weekend, Kay joined Paisley on the opening run of his Truck Still Works World Tour. During his set, Paisley surprised fans by bringing Kay out to perform the 2004 hit “Whiskey Lullaby,” a song originally recorded with Alison Krauss.

The duet was a dream come true for Kay, who had manifested the moment just weeks before. In one of her signature coffee-making videos, she asked fans, “Do y’all think Brad Paisley would let me sing this with him while we’re on tour?” She added, “I would cry. It’s literally my dream come true.”

And cry she did — tears of joy.

Following the show, she wrote on social media: “First night out with @bradpaisley.. an absolute dream come true. I have NEVER seen so many AK T-shirts in the crowd before… Brad!! Thanks for this opportunity to play for your incredible fans! I’m forever grateful!”

Written by Bill Anderson and Jon Randall, “Whiskey Lullaby” is one of Paisley’s most beloved ballads and has been certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA.

Before the tour, Kay recalled the emotional moment she got the call: “I called everyone in my family,” she said. “When I found out what song he wanted to bring me out for, I lost my mind.”

She plans to watch Paisley’s set from the crowd each night: “I’ve paid to go to so many Brad Paisley concerts. Now I get to watch nine for free!”

Kay rejoins Paisley on tour July 17 in Richmond, Virginia.
