Country music heartthrob Riley Green may sing about love, but in real life, he’s not so sure he’s figured it out. In a recent interview, the Alabama native got candid about his struggles with dating—admitting he’s still working on being “boyfriend material.”
Despite constant rumors about his relationship status, Green has repeatedly confirmed he’s single. A few years back, he even acknowledged that it was likely for the best, citing his lack of communication skills and a lifestyle that keeps him constantly on the go.
“There’s probably women everywhere that’d volunteer to answer that question for you,” Green joked when asked if he’s grown in the relationship department. “I don’t think I’ve gotten any better at any of that.”
“I don’t think I’ve gotten any better at any of that… maybe one of these days I’ll have a little time to settle down…”
His Career Leaves Little Time For Love
As his career continues to soar, Green says he’s aware that the demands of touring and writing leave little room for dating—at least for now.
“I don’t know with this lifestyle that it’s not the easiest thing in the world,” he admitted. “And you know, I’ve got a lot of opportunity in my career right now… maybe one of these days I’ll have a little time to settle down and get more than just a dog.”
In a previous appearance on The Viall Files podcast, Green reinforced how little free time he actually has.
“I barely have time to see my dog,” he said. “So it would take a really special girl to be okay with the amount of travel time I would be gone. I just don’t think I’ve found her yet.”

Over the last year, fans have speculated about a possible romance between Riley Green and his duet partner, Ella Langley. The two share undeniable chemistry on their track “You Look Like You Love Me,” and now that Langley has joined Green’s Damn Country Music Tour, the rumors have only grown louder.
But Green made it clear: their relationship is strictly professional.
“I mean, Ella’s probably too smart to date me anyway,” he said during his chat with Nick Viall.
Green admits he anticipated some gossip when the duet took off. “When we first started having the success that we did with that song, I told Ella, I was like, ‘There’s gonna be a lot of things said, but we don’t really got to play into it or not play into it.’”
Langley and Green now share the stage nightly on tour, giving fans a memorable duet moment that has quickly become a fan favorite.
“It’s cool to have that one and have that moment on stage together every night,” Green said of performing with Langley.
