If you guessed 22, you’re right! Walker Hayes’ “90’s Country” may just sound like any other song the first time you hear it, but it’s far from that. The song is full of references to 22 of the biggest country music hits from the 90’s! The music video even pays tribute to the decade. Go back in time with the full list of references in “90’s Country” explained below.

“90’s Country” was released in August 2018 and the music video was released shortly after. The music video was filmed outside of Nashville on Old Hickory Lake and pays tribute to Alan Jackson’s “Chattahoochee,” which is also one of the songs referenced in the lyrics. Walker said in an ABC Press Release, “From the moment we shot the first scene to the moment my team showed me the final video, I have been itching for the world to see it.”
