Carly Pearce isn’t afraid to clear the air when it comes to rumors about her life and career.

In a candid new video, she addressed some of the biggest misconceptions people have about her.

Here’s a breakdown of the six myths she debunked:

1. Not Every Song Is About Her Ex-Husband

Pearce shut down the idea that all her songs are inspired by her former marriage to fellow country star Michael Ray.

“So because I wrote a divorce album called 29, people say every song after that album is about my ex-husband. They’re not,” she clarified.

2. Navigating Dating as a Public Figure Isn’t Easy

The singer opened up about the challenges of dating while being in the spotlight.

She explained how public assumptions often complicate her personal life, especially when it comes to romance.

3. No, She Didn’t Get Work Done

Back in 2020, fans speculated that Pearce had major cosmetic work done after seeing her at the CMA Awards.

The truth? She was recovering from a painful accident just days before.

“People think back in 2020 after seeing me on the CMA awards that I had a bunch of crazy work done on my face and my lips. But in reality, I was in an accident five days prior to the CMAs and knocked both of my front teeth out, and the day after the CMAs, I had to get three root canals,” Pearce revealed.

4. She’s Fun (and Nice!)

Addressing misconceptions about her personality, Pearce confirmed that her social anxiety sometimes gives people the wrong impression.

“So because I have social anxiety, people say that I don’t look nice. I swear I’m nice,” she said.

She also shared a surprising anecdote: “Because I write and sing sad songs, people say I’m not fun. I even had a country artist that I opened for tell me that he thought I was probably not fun and had no idea until he got to know me.”

5. Her Sad Songs Don’t Define Her Life

Pearce emphasized that while her music often delves into emotional topics, it doesn’t mean she lives in a constant state of sadness.

6. New Music Is Coming Sooner Than You Think

Fans were treated to an exciting teaser about what’s next for Pearce.

Despite releasing Hummingbird in June, she hinted that more music is on the way.

“People think because I put out an album mid last year that I’m not going to be putting out any new music for a really long time,” she teased with a smirk.

Pearce even shared a sneak peek of an unreleased ballad, promising listeners a heartfelt reminder that there’s always hope on the other side of tough times.
