Chris Stapleton Takes on “Sesame Street”

Chris Stapleton on Sesame Street? That’s a match made in musical heaven.

The legendary show’s 55th season kicks off January 16 on MAX, featuring an all-star lineup, including Stapleton, SZA, Noah Kahan, Reneé Rapp, and Samara Joy.

With episodes focused on emotional well-being, the season promises to blend life lessons with unforgettable music.

Stapleton’s contribution stands out with a soulful country ode to music and friendship.

According to Tony and Grammy-winning music director Bill Sherman, Stapleton was eager to bring his own creativity to the project.

The two collaborated over Zoom, with Stapleton strumming his guitar and pouring his heart into the process. “It was one of the most surreal two hours of my life,” Sherman recalls.

“Music brings people together,” says Elmo, the show’s 3½-year-old red monster and unofficial ambassador.

“Chris Stapleton and all these amazing artists remind us that music is a universal language.”

Since its debut, Sesame Street has been a beacon of education and entertainment, earning over 200 Emmys and spreading joy to families in 150+ countries.
