Chris Stapleton and P!nk release new duet, “Just Say I’m Sorry.” Stapleton and Pink have now collaborated on two songs together. In 2019 they paired on P!nk’s record, Hurts 2B Human, with the song “Love Me Anyway”. “Just Say I’m Sorry”, a sorrowful song, brings both singers asking their significant others to set aside their ego and find light in what the other is asking.
Over elegant bass lines P!nk softly asks in the opening verse “Just say, ‘I’m sorry’ / It’s not the hardest thing to do / Just say you’re wrong sometimes / And I’ll believe you ’cause I love you / Just say, ‘I’m sorry,’”. Stapleton follows with pulling lyrics “Everybody wants to be the one who’s right / Everybody wants the last word to end the fight/ Everyday is a new day, with a chance to choose / Sometimes a way to win is to say you lose”.
Stapleton and Pink’s adroit vocals easily capture the listeners along with the stripped-down melody and truthful lyrics, bringing us all heartache and hope.
