Last night was the first time Virginia and Texas Tech had each reached the NCAA Men’s basketball championship game in school history. The last time two first time teams appeared in the final game was back in 1979 in a game that featured this Indiana legend.
Larry Bird’s Indiana State took on Magic Johnson’s Michigan State in the championship game in 1979. Michigan State won that game but Larry Legend went on to do some pretty big things, right? Congratulations to my Virginia Cavaliers for their first national championship in school history! It was another “heart attack” kind of game that went to overtime before Virginia beat Texas Tech 85-77. Wahoowa!
