Many country artists have been featured on season 2 of NBC’S Songland, including Lady A, Martina McBride, and Florida Georgia Line. On the show, you get a peak into the songwriting process and how a song becomes reality. If you missed these country artists’ appearances on the show, here’s a recap of the songs they chose and the transformations they went through.

 

Lady A, “Champagne Night”

Season 2, Episode 1: Songwriter Madeline Merlo originally performed the song “I’ll Drink to That” for Lady A and the judges. After working with country music producer Shane McAnally, the song transformed into “Champagne Night,” which was recorded by Lady A and is their current single. Martina McBride, “Girls Like Me”

Season 2, Episode 4: Songwriter Halie performed the song “Girls Like Me” for Martina McBride and the judges. After working with producer Ester Dean, Martina McBride chose the new version of the song to record and it is her current single. See the song’s journey below [WATCH].

Florida Georgia Line, “Second Guessing”

Season 2, Episode 6: Songwriter Griffen Palmer performed his song “Second Guessing” for Florida Georgia Line and the judges. After working with country music producer Shane McAnally, Florida Georgia Line picked the updated version of his song and recorded it. “Second Guessing” will be featured on FGL’s new EP 6-Pack available Friday, May 22. Kelsea Ballerini and Old Dominion were also featured on season 1 of Songland. Kelsea chose the song “Better Luck Next Time” written by Darius Coleman and Old Dominion chose the song “Young” written by Katelyn Tarver. Check out the songs below!
