According to a new study, couples who spend more than $20,000 on a wedding are 1.6 times as likely to do this later.

The study found that couples who spend a lot of money on a wedding or a lot of money on an engagement ring have a higher rate of divorce than couples who do not spend quite as much. The scientists weren’t able to determine the reason why but more money did not necessarily mean more happiness. It doesn’t mean you are going to get divorced if you spend more money but maybe people who have finer tastes and higher expectations aren’t as successful with their relationships!
