According to a new survey, the south has the best of these, Chicago has the worst and Boston has the strongest.

The new study found that the majority of Americans think the coastal south has the most attractive accents followed by the Texas accent. On the other end of the list was Chicago with the worst accents. Boston was voted the strongest accent. Nearly one-third of Americans say they have an accent. Do you? I really don’t think I do. I once had a college professor tell me I had the typical, flat American accent, meaning no accent. My parents are both from Boston and my whole family now lives in the coastal south so I hear all kinds of accents all the time! What regional accent is your favorite?
