According to a new study out just this week, doing this regularly can help you remember good times and forget about bad times.
Drinking alcohol!
According to scientists at Brown University, having a few drinks affects genes that create memories, making it easier to remember good times and harder to remember bad times. The alcohol affects the dopamine-2-like receptors which encode whether a memory is pleasant or not. The downside is that the same genes can begin to crave the good memories and, subsequently, crave the alcohol. The craving memories are what can lead to problems. So it’s probably best to be able to remember everything, the ups and the downs!
